Bottled water is another unnecessary "necessity" that can attribute its success to extensive (not always truthful) marketing. If you really can't be satisfied by plain water, you might try a refreshing drink of plain tap water (or filtered, if you need it) with mint leaves, or mint leaves, basil, and lemon balm leaves. No need to brew it--just add, let sit an hour or so, and drink! I then refrigerate it and use it within a day or so. by the way, anybody with a scrap of yard can grow mint. You'd better contain it, or it will take over the neighborhood!

Nuun tablets are a godsend. This summer, I've been plagued by muscle cramps and dehydration. I knew I needed to drink something that would replace my electrolytes, but so many sports drinks are full of sugar and calories.

Each Nuun tablet has no sugar and only SIX calories! I could definitely feel the difference from drinking it. So far, I've tried the lemon-lime flavor - it's light but pleasant. And I absolutely love the fact that they are portable, have less packaging, and dissolve without the mess of powdered drinks. Well worth the $6.50 per tube I paid at REI.

Oh my goodness! I just came across these tablets the other day, and they are so good! I'm glad to hear they're becoming popular! I had a green tea flavor--so refreshing!

Distilled water removes virtually all impurities from tap water. However, if chlorine is your primary concern, a simple carbon filtration system (even something as easy to fine as a Brita or Pur pitcher) will remove around 93 to 99 percent of the chlorine from your water. This will be a cheaper option for you. Check out our bottled water page in the Conscious Consumer Marketplace at http://www.newdream.org/marketplace/water.php for more information about filters. Good luck and let us know how it works out for you!

I buy distilled water because I have always believed it to be a cleaner kind of water without chlorine in the tap water. Is this true? Or have I been wasting my money all these years?
