So you’ve stopped by buying bottled water, traded in your BPA-laden plastic bottle for one made of stainless steel, and fill it regularly with cool, filtered water from your Brita. Way to live the bottle-less life!

Want to keep on saving– both dollars and the planet? Check out the following link from Instructables.com and learn how to easily refill a “disposable” Brita filter for a tiny fraction of the cost of a replacement cartridge.

Enjoy!

And for those people who don’t want to hack a BRITA cartridge to refill it, don’t you wish BRITA would design them to be refilled or recycled?

Please join our “Take Back The Filter” campaign and sign on to our petition:

And please spread the word! We need to send a strong message to Clorox, the company that owns BRITA in the U.S. that we expect “green” companies to take responsibility for the waste they produce!

    Thanks!
