as a mother of 2 growing (and eating) boys, my trips to the grocery store brought home about 20 bags a week. (double-bagging is the norm!)and in nyc, where I live, plastic bags are not recycled. Multiply that by families across the US and the numbers are staggering! That’s why I started a company called minusbags.Cool, cotton grocery bags designed with the earth in mind. check them out at www.minusbags.com

I just saw your post and 2 days before this i decided to call around to find reusable bags and some stores wanted up too $6 a bag but i found 2 food stores that sold theirs for 99 cents only because they had the store logo on them and also when you use them at their store they give you 5 cents back for each bag you have. I bought 30 and i ahd a GREAT idea too, alot of people buy gift bags to put xmas or Bday presents in insted of wraping paper well why not buy one of these bags to give the present in so not only do they get their gift but they can also use the bag every time they go shopping too! how much better does it get then that! and it may make them stop and think to buy some of their own the next time they buy food. I’m going to start doing this for every present i give from now on.

Merry Xmas and reuse that bag!
