I have always washed in cold water. I've never had any issues with it as of yet. I can't line dry though. I have too many allergies and have to avoid pollen getting onto my clothes as much as possible. I do hang dry half my clothes inside though. It might take longer but at least I don't sneeze as much from them!

Nope! Most of the new laundry detergents today work as well in cold as they do in hot.

Happy Washing!

I sent your letter about washing cold/cold to 38 friends and got responses from 12 of them right away. Only 2 said they were going to try it. The others unanimously said "I use cold water 100%, none of this 80% business."

I do have kids who play in mud..and with a toothbrush and gentle scrubbing you can get those stains out in cold water!

Also, washing in cold water and line drying prevents clothing from shrinking. Kids grow out of their clothing fast enough without shrinking it on them!

i have been washing in cold now for years...it does the same job as warm or hot...if i had young kids who played in dirt i might wash a load in warm...but never ever hot...it cleans the same and it saves sooo many things that will benefit the world to come plus i save alot of money not heating the water for the wash..
