Zogby Says 86% of Your Friends Want to Junk Their Junk Mail
Posted on Monday, October 1st, 2007 at 1:27 pmThe last C3 email stated this statistic in the subject heading. Here’s more information from that September 2007 poll conducted by Zogby International for Center for a New American Dream*:
- 27% discard or recycle all of the ad mail they receive at home without reading it, and an additional 47% discard or recycle most of it unread. Only 8% read it all.
- 93% are aware of the Do Not Call telemarketer registry.
- 89% of those who are aware of Do Not Call support the creation of a similar tool to make it easier for Americans to opt out of unsolicited ad mail.
- 86% would be likely to take advantage of a free and quick way to eliminate most of their unsolicited ad mail. This group includes the two-thirds (67%) of respondents who are “very likely” as well as 19% who are “somewhat likely.”
*National Poll Commissioned by the Center for a New American Dream and conducted from September 13-16, 2007 by Zogby International. The survey was administered by phone to 1011 likely voters nationwide. Findings from the survey have a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.
