Zogby Says 86% of Your Friends Want to Junk Their Junk Mail

Posted on Monday, October 1st, 2007 at 1:27 pm

The last C3 email stated this statistic in the subject heading.  Here’s more information from that September 2007 poll conducted by Zogby International for Center for a New American Dream*:

  • 27% discard or recycle all of the ad mail they receive at home without reading it, and an additional 47% discard or recycle most of it unread. Only 8% read it all.
  • 93% are aware of the Do Not Call telemarketer registry.
  • 89% of those who are aware of Do Not Call support the creation of a similar tool to make it easier for Americans to opt out of unsolicited ad mail.
  • 86% would be likely to take advantage of a free and quick way to eliminate most of their unsolicited ad mail. This group includes the two-thirds (67%) of respondents who are “very likely” as well as 19% who are “somewhat likely.”

*National Poll Commissioned by the Center for a New American Dream and conducted from September 13-16, 2007 by Zogby International. The survey was administered by phone to 1011 likely voters nationwide. Findings from the survey have a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.

I am looking for the form to stop the junk mail. This one should be available year round. It is incredible how much junk mail we all get and don’t want. Please send me the form so that I can start with my building!!
